While working for
Hospitality Printing and Design, the Rio Suites Hotel hired our firm
to develop a new style of menu
for its restaurant, Mask. The resulting sushi menu
is one of the most complex projects I have ever created.
The Rio Suites Management requested a showpiece that was not only a menu,
but an informational book about sushi. The
finished book is 11.5 inches square, and has 28 pages. In addition to
four color process images, it makes extensive use of metallic inks and
die-cutting.
I was completely
responsible for the production of this book from its initial concept,
design and research to all copywriting, supervision of photography,
highly complex photo compositing,
and camera ready art production.
