This new corporate identity package was prepared and presented to Digital Insight in January of 2003. Although the company selected another design firm's proposal, I was very proud of this work and decided to display a few of the pieces here.

Digital Insight is a business-to-business online banking service provider. The new identity had to present the company as a highly advanced technology firm, yet also maintain the "strong and conservative" image so prevalent in financial services marketing. Since the firm's marketing materials are frequently generated by internal resources, it was imperative the new "look and feel" be distinctive yet simple, permitting it to be consistently reproduced by non-marketing personnel in field sales and engineering.

To address all these apparently conflicting requirements, I presented fairly conservative layouts and font treatments with highly unique and contemporary visual images and photography. The concept was to provide templated layouts for all departments, and provide a repository of "approve stock images" which could be accessed via the company's intranet. By placing an approved image into one of the templates, anyone in the company could quickly generate cost-effective, professional marketing materials that followed company standards.

I also proposed printing important collateral such as annual reports and high-end brochures using new pre-press techniques utilizing metallic inks as part of the process image separation. The brochure cover shown at the right was to printed using these new techniques, using pearl inks in "white" areas as well as within the composite image to add depth and shine. However, as you will see on on subsequent pages, this identity does not rely on expensive printing techniques.

On the next few pages, you will see how the proposed identity was carried from print advertising to all forms of collateral, and how differentiations between the company's product lines was achieved by the use of color.
