Studio 54 Grand Opening, MGM Grand Hotel

After reviewing the interior architecture and design of the MGM's new nightclub, Studio 54, I realized that the new club had very little to do with its 80's predecessor. Therefore, I designed a very stylized urban logo that captured the mood of the club's interior.

Here, you will see both the color version, and a black and white treament. I am a strong believer that every logo should be reproducible in a straight "positive and negative" format to ensure it can be used in cases that do not permit color reproduction (embossing, fax sheets, newspaper ads, die cutting, material carving or even ice sculpture.) The custom typeface is based on a ultra-condensed sans serif font that was modified using Adobe Illustrator.

This logo was awarded a Commendation at the Las Vegas Advertising Federations' Awards.
