| While working for
Hospitality Printing and Design, a firm that specializes in hotel and restaurant
marketing, one of our largest clients was the MGM Grand Hotel. I was asked
to create a new identity and promotion peices for the grand opening of that hotel's newest
nightclub, Studio 54.
After reviewing the interior architecture and design of the club, I designed a very stylized urban logo. I then incorporated architectural elements within the club, such as chainlink fencing, scaffolds and textured walls into a series of posters that were displayed throughout the MGM Grand in the weeks before and immediately after the club opening. This series of posters (one of which is shown here), was awarded the Las Vegas Advertising Federations' Best of Show Award, and the series eventually advanced to the National Addy Awards competition.
